"La pobreza me emputa", Rosemberg Sandoval - Performance at IN SITU
“...it is in the confinement of the pandemic, when social inequality, ignorance, hunger, uncertainty, fear, and poverty become transparent and I steal from the lady who sells arepas on the corner a charcoal stick with the one I write on a band of recycled plastic bags linked together: LA POBREZA ME EMPUTA”
This is how Rosemberg Sandoval describes LA POBREZA ME EMPUTA (LIMBO), his performance that will be part of IN SITU, a new program of ephemeral and spontaneous interventions on the facade of Casas Riegner that seeks to trigger reflections and dialogues on the various ways of understanding and assimilating contemporary artistic production.

Canto hondo arrives at IN FOCUS
Opening: Thursday, October 25th.
This collective exhibition, curated by Paula Bossa, brings together works by Ethel Gilmour, María Teresa Hincapié, María Leguízamo, Luz Lizarazo, Liliana Porter y Liliana Sánchez, in conversation with works by César González, who generates dialogues with each of the artists to understand the feminine instinctive essence or what we know as the feminine soul.
IN FOCUS is an expository modality that aims to activate spaces from small exhibitions. In these rooms, particular due to their size and architecture, exhibitions are proposed to arise from dialogues and culminate in study sessions which allow delving into the practice of the artists.

Tribute to Antonio Caro
This space is a tribute to the artist Antonio Caro and his works related to corn, the American plant that was Caro's obsession for more than five years in which he developed and reworked different forms and approaches to corn, from woodcuts and lithographs to public murals and borders made with vinyl and brush. These exercises led him to transcend his interpretations of corn, from something representative to something symbolic.

Qué estoy haciendo aquí, a work by Luis Roldán
Bodega Piloto and Casas Riegner are pleased to present "Que estoy haciendo aquí" (1999-2000), winning work of the second edition Premio Luis Caballero in the year 2000. With this project, Luis Roldán reflects on dead time, waiting time, and the vacui horror, after learning the survival story of a monkey that traveled by boat from Boston to Ireland in 1829. Faced with the scarcity of food, the animal raffled the crossing by feeding on cockroaches that inhabited the hold of the boat.
Bodega Piloto is located in the historic industrial zone of Bogotá planned by Le Corbusier in his pilot plan of 1953. Implementing an urban recovery program based on cultural, artistic, and educational activities, Bodega Piloto seeks to prevent the processes of excessive growth of the city to obliterate the area.
